Nick Cannon’s talk show has been canceled after only one season. For some time now, insiders have been telling me that Cannon’s show was in trouble and had a low audience of only 400,000 viewers per day. Some sources attributed the lack of interest to most daytime viewers being women, and many of them having a problem with the unmarried comedian having seven children with four women, and an eighth on the way with another woman. Apparently, his ex-wife, Mariah Carey, is not too happy with the situation either. A source reportedly said, “Mariah read him the riot act, asking ‘The Masked Singer’ host, ‘Is this the message you’re sending our children, that it isn’t healthy to fall in love and be faithful to one person?’” “The Nick Cannon Show” will air through November. Also the host of “Wild N Out,” Cannon recently opened a sports bar named after the show in his hometown of San Diego, and has plans to open one in Harlem.

Speaking of talk shows, Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson is coming to daytime this fall with the launch of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on Fox Television Stations. According to Variety, while the new one-hour talker is not technically Warner Bros TV’s replacement for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which is coming to an end this year, Hudson’s show is positioned to be the studio’s new flagship daytime show once Ellen has said her final goodbye after a 19-season run. Says Hudson, “I have experienced so much in my life, I’ve seen the highest of the highs, the lowest of the lows, and just about everything in between, but my mother always told me, ‘Once you think you’ve seen it all, just keep on living.’”
