Make America Great Again—Trump Must Go! #178

Trump took another more decisive step into the quagmire of white supremacy the other day when he retweeted a video in which a man in a golf cart is seen chanting “white power.” He claimed that he didn’t hear the statement from the driver.
The charges and declaiming made by Trump come from a whole cloth of lies and dodges. And none of them are currently more egregious than his denial of being briefed about the bounties offered to Afghanistan militants by Russian intelligence units to kill U.S. troops.
He summed up what could be treason as nothing more than “fake news,” something we’ve heard ad infinitum from him.
The recent report comes at a time when Trump is taking his lumps in polls, several showing him double digit percentage points behind Joe Biden. There was no good news again for Trump from the Supreme Court that quelled, for the moment, the push from anti-abortionists. This ruling follows the Court’s favorable decisions on transgender rights and protecting Dreamers and the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program.
But as we know so well, a reeling Trump is a dangerous one and a very punitive one as he composes plans to punish protesters who tear down racist and segregationist statues.
Yes, we are living through some of the scariest times in American history as the pandemic shows few signs of lessening, the unemployment numbers continue to rise, and police brutality is just as violent and virulent as ever.
These are quite a few things for Americans to endure, and, of course, the problems disproportionately impact the poor and people of color.
Relief for any one of these maladies would be welcomed, and ridding ourselves of one who is complicit in all of them is devotedly wished.
But wishing will not remove the scourge in the Oval Office. It’s a formidable task but we have the tools—and to some degree the fortitude—to bring that about and make manifest our wish that to Make America Great Again—Trump Must Go!
