On Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, The Downtown Brooklyn Neighborhood Alliance (DBNA) hosted a back-to-school party, in partnership with NPower and Brooklyn Queens Land Trust. With the House of the Lord’s Rev. Herbert Daughtry in the middle of all the fun proceedings, backpacks and school supplies were given out to eager students and families on a first come, first served basis. All main events took place in gorgeous sunshine at the Bergen Street Garden, and those activities included: Double Dutch jumping with Brooklyn Recess, a photo booth, face painting, arts and crafts, and music and dancing courtesy of DJ Annie Red.
