The Campaign Against Hunger in Brooklyn is hosting its annual Children’s Harvest Festival Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Far Rock Farm located at 385 Beach Street in Far Rockaway, Queens.

Children and their families can enjoy arts and crafts, face painting, farm fresh food and a tour of the TCAH’s urban farms.

The half an acre Far Rock Urban Agro-Ecological Center is TCAH’s largest farm. After Hurricane Sandy, TCAH leased the land through the New York City Parks Department that was once an empty lot. The goal of our program is to use local agriculture to encourage healthy food choices, promote good health, spur economic growth through entrepreneurship, and promote a strong sense of community.
