With the holiday season quickly approaching, City Harvest is asking all New Yorkers to pitch in and help fellow city residents.

There are several ways to help City Harvest make sure that all of our neighbors have enough food during the holidays, and throughout the year.

The 36th annual Daily News Food Drive starts this week and goes through Jan. 18. The city’s largest annual food drive has a goal to collect 1 million pounds of non-perishable food, which will be delivered to hundreds of soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the five boroughs.

Hundreds of volunteers will come together at City Harvest’s Food Rescue Facility for its annual Repack to Give Back event, taking place the week before Thanksgiving, to pack 6,000 holiday meal boxes with fresh produce and non-perishable food—enough to help 24,000 New Yorkers put holiday meals on their tables.
