Celebrating Brother Stan Kinard’s work and education activism

Brooklyn proper came out to celebrate Stan Kinard, educator and activist, at Sistas’ Place in Bed-Stuy. Organizers, family members and supporters such as Tulani Kinard, December 12th Movement’s Viola Plummer and Colette Pean, Brenda Stokely, Hazel Younglao and Assata Sala created a wonderful evening to honor this fixture on the Brooklyn education front.

Praised profusely was Kinard’s Carter G. Woodson program at Boys and Girls High School, and his commitment to the development and progress of the youth.
