New Jersey street being dedicated to Cissy Houston

Grammy-award winning singer Cissy Houston street dedicated in her honor in Newark.
Houston is the mother of later superstar singer Whitney Houston and grandmother of the late Bobbi Kristina Brown.
A ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Jan. 27 at New Hope Baptist Church. The event is being sponsored by Newark City Council Member Gayle Chaneyfield-Jenkins.
Born Emily Drinkard, Houston was born in Newark in 1933. She is a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church where she began her singing career performing with her siblings in a gospel group called the The Drinkard Singers.
