Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. hosted their annual Blue and White Picnic in Prospect Park. All local Sigma and Zeta Chapters came together for the reunion.
Both organizations recently participated in their fourth annual Bare Necessities Campaign, in which chapters collected items for the homeless, including toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, wash cloths, sanitary napkins and bottled water, along with monetary donations. The items were distributed at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Throughout the year the chapters participate in a number of community service projects. Brooklyn’s Kappa Beta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity recently participated in a highway cleanup and will soon start their Saturday Reading Program for youth at the Brooklyn Public Library.
The Delta Alpha Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority in Brooklyn recently held their annual Walk-a-Thon in Prospect Park to raise money for the chapter’s scholarship fund. The chapter is also gearing up for their annual Z-Pack It Up program, in which they will be collecting and distributing school supplies for needy children.
