Mama Fela Barclift, founder and director of Little Sun People preschool and day care center (1360 Fulton St. in Brooklyn), is about to celebrate Little Sun People’s “35 years of Culture, Care and Community!” Friday, April 28, she and her staff will present “a fun filled night of music, food, drinks and a spirited live and silent auction featuring exclusive art pieces, sports memorabilia and more at Richard Beavers Gallery.” Barclift said, “From humble beginnings to an established and well-known local community preschool, our mission is to educate children in their most formative years about the history and culture of all people of color with a particular emphasis on people of African ancestry, by instituting a robust and holistic curriculum designed for the pre-school learner.”
Ticket price includes drinks and appetizers. Child care will be provided at Little Sun People for both parents and alumni in attendance. The live auction starts at 8 p.m. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
